IJM Seremban 2 Brings CNY Joy To Six Underprivileged Families.

IJM Seremban 2 recently visited six underprivileged families here to share Chinese New Year joy, “recognising the significance of family during this auspicious occasion”.

Each family received ang pow of RM1,000 and grocery package worth RM600 with essentials such as rice, cooking oil, flour, cookies, and other necessities.

“As we embrace the vibrancy of Chinese New Year, it is crucial to remember those encountering challenges in our community. We are privileged to uphold our annual tradition of bringing warmth to those in need,” said Chai Kian Soon, senior general manager of IJM Land Bhd.
“Our sincere visits to these six families aim not only to provide financial assistance but also to create lasting memories and instil a sense of hope during this festive season.”

Chai added that IJM Land “has been committed to making a positive impact on the Seremban community” for many years.

Among the six families were a) Lay Lee Hwa (42 years old) who juggles work to support her family of five after her husband suffered a stroke and is unable to work b) Yong Kuan Fong (47 years), a single mother of two school-going kids, who stopped working full-time due to a breast cancer diagnosis and now works part-time as a waitress c) Lam Pau Lin (44 years) a single mother of two who lost her husband to cancer and earns a minimal income as a house helper d) Wan Chew Liean (44 years) single mother of four, who supports her three school-going children after her husband’s death due to a lung infection e) Lai Mee Chan (56 years) who is struggling to make ends meet by selling fruits and (f) Law Mee Chai (42 years old) and Chee Yun Keong (42 years old) with their family of five, relying on minimal income and financial support.

“Our yearly outreach during Chinese New Year isn’t merely a tradition; it reflects our steadfast commitment to uplift those in need. We firmly believe that as corporate citizens, it is our responsibility to lend a helping hand to our community members facing challenges,” added Chai.
