Oasis International School, in Collaboration With Entomal Biotech and IJM Land, Hosts Sustainable Solutions Showcasing Food Waste Management Practices

Oasis International School (OIS), in collaboration with Entomal Biotech and IJM Land, hosted Sustainable Solutions, an event showcasing innovative food waste management practices. The event brought together representatives from Bioeconomy Corporation, Entomal Biotech, PPD Kuala Langat, IJM Corporation, IJM Land, and Global Comm, emphasizing the role of organizations in promoting environmental responsibility.

During the event, high school students Grace Han and Teck Chee Tan presented on the global food waste crisis and how OIS is tackling it through a sustainable food waste processing system, student-led urban farming, vermiculture and campus-wide composting.

Entomal Biotech gave a tour of the school cafeteria’s waste collection system and the Entomal Mobile Bio-Conversion (EMBC) System, a cutting-edge innovation housed in a shipping container that uses Black Soldier Fly larvae to convert food waste into valuable resources.

Representatives from Oasis International School, Bioeconomy Corporation, Entomal Biotech, PPD Kuala Langat, IJM Corporation, IJM Land, and Global Comm learn about the food waste transformation at the EMBC.

Entomal and IJM Land aim to expand similar sustainability initiatives across the Klang Valley, with Oasis International School leading the way as the first institution to implement this innovative food waste processing system. This collaboration seeks to inspire more organizations to adopt effective waste management solutions and contribute to a more sustainable future.
